There is no mathematics required to solve the puzzle. Solutions are found by determining what possible values a cell can contain, considering the information given in the original puzzle. Sudoku puzzles can be found in many daily newspapers. This site also allows you to select a specific or randomly selected "easy" or "hard" puzzle from the website's collection by pressing th "New Puzzle" button. The "Start" button will save the puzzle after it has been entered or selected. The "Go One Step" button will fill all cells with the possible values for the cells after excluding values already in the particular row or column. The "Solve" button is a cheat in which your computer will attempt to solve the puzzle for you. The "Clear" button erases out the entire puzzle in preparation for a new puzzle. The "Check My Work" button will check to see if a solution is possible using the existing info in the puzzle. The "Backup" button will save your current info so that you can return to that stage of the solution process in the event that an error is made at a later step. The "Restore" button will reload your earlier saved backup of the puzzle. The "Quit For Now" button will allow you to save your work so that you can, if you like, return to it later.
